About Sports Attitude: Harry Roberts

“One of my main goals in life is to assist and help others to achieve their dreams and ambitions by the introduction, participation and competing in any sport at all levels.” – Harry Roberts.

Harry RobertsHarry Roberts, who is the man behind Sports attitude, played sport at the highest international level. Harry was privileged to represent his home nation, South Africa at Rugby Union in 1992. Along the way he has achieved many individual ambitions and outstanding achievements over a period of twenty four years - playing on four continents, in 15 countries, representing Transvaal and several international invitation sides such as the New Zealand, UK & South African Barbarians.

Harry played club rugby for Leicester Tigers, Richmond and London Scottish.

This extensive experience has given him the practical exposure to many different coaching methods and worldwide styles of individual and team management including:

Running parallel with his dedication to rugby and other sports, Harry has been coaching across a broad range for the past seventeen (17) years. From the introduction of the sport at mini & junior levels, school development, club teams (Rand Afrikaans University, Nuneaton, Dunstablians and Loughborough University to under 21 provincial levels.

His capacity at all these levels covered the roles of:

Harry has have backed up his progression of skills by obtaining coaching certificates from SARFU at level 1 & 2, the RFU at Adult Level 2 & 3 with additional responsibilities as a RFU Coach Educator. In 1998 Harry was involved with Saheti School to organise and manage the start up of a 7’s and a mini rugby tournament for 20 schools teams in Johannesburg, overcoming considerable resistance by using sport as a common language to communicate across cultural barriers and integrate children from a range of different backgrounds and traditions.
